Andy Carroll Parts Ways with Lou Teasdale After Tense Holiday Bust-Up
Former England striker Andy Carroll has reportedly called time on his relationship with Lou Teasdale, just weeks after a heated holiday row made headlines.
The 36-year-old footballer, who began dating the celebrity hair stylist last year following his quiet separation from ex-wife Billi Mucklow, had been attempting to patch things up. But sources now claim tensions have reached breaking point.
The split comes in the wake of a rocky summer getaway to Greece. During the trip, disagreements between the pair allegedly escalated to the point where local police intervened on two separate occasions, once at a bustling restaurant and again at a boutique hotel.
A staff member from the restaurant previously told The Mirror: “We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately.
He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.”
In the days that followed, both Carroll and Teasdale issued a joint statement, attempting to play down the incident: “Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion.
It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to ‘look after’ us.
As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together.”
Despite those reassurances, the romance appears to have unravelled. The couple have unfollowed each other on social media, often the modern-day sign that things are over.
A source told The Sun: “Andy got sick of Lou’s demands and her influencer lifestyle. She’s always posting on social media and he hates that. He told her it was over this week. He’s single now.”
Earlier in the year, Carroll was said to have made a conscious effort to turn things around, even going alcohol-free during Glastonbury to match Teasdale’s teetotal lifestyle. The pair were seen enjoying the festival, marking their first anniversary at the very place they had met.
One insider had revealed at the time: “After everything that’s gone on lately, Andy wanted to make sure their first anniversary was special. Lou’s totally teetotal so he thought it would be nice for them to spend the weekend together sober. Andy adores Lou and would do anything for her.
He knows she deserves better and wants to put any bad behaviour in the past to bed. Andy is convinced Lou is the one for him and is determined to get his act together and propose.”
It seems, however, that even those efforts couldn’t salvage the relationship. Representatives for both Carroll and Teasdale have been approached for comment.
