A huge fire has broken out at a storehouse in Southall, West London, causing thick clouds of smoke to fill the sky and disrupting business across the area.
The blaze, which began at around 8.55 am, has prompted a critical response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB), with around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines responding to the area.
Fire Engulfs Warehouse and Retail Space
The fire has engulfed a two-storey structure on Bridge Road that combines storehouse and retail space. Explosions have reportedly been heard, and prints posted on X (formerly Twitter) show bright flames and thick black smoke covering the skyline.
Locals have been advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the bank alert. Although there are presently no reports of injuries, exigency crews are continuing to work at the scene to bring the artificial blaze under control.
Fire Brigade Response
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said: “Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters are responding to a fire on Bridge Road, Southall.
The fire is located in a two-storey structure consisting of a warehouse and retail space. Traffic in the area will be impacted as crews respond.
The Brigade was first called about the incident at 8.55, and crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and surrounding fire stations have been sent to the scene. The cause of the fire is not yet known.”
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are responding to a fire on Bridge Road, #Southall.

The brigade has advised anyone in the area to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
Heavy Traffic and Travel Disruptions in Southall
The artificial blaze has caused significant business traffic in the surrounding thoroughfares. Google Charts shows heavy detainments, with darker shadowing indicating severe deadlock.
Motorists are prompted to plan redundant time for peregrinations or avoid the area entirely if possible.
Residents near Bridge Road have been told to:

- Avoid the area unless travel is essential
