A Year of Growth for Jet2
The Jet2 Gatwick expansion comes as the airline celebrates 22 years of flying since its launch in 2003, followed by the creation of Jet2holidays in 2007.
Before this time, Jet2 also launched its first breakouts from London Luton Airport, with the initial route to Majorca taking off on 1 April 2025.
That move marked the first new airline base at Luton in 20 years, serving 17 European destinations including Greece, Spain, and Portugal.
Luton Airport’s CEO Alberto Martin called the day “the start of a bright future” and “a day of celebration.”
Jet2 Keeps Winning Hearts
Jet2 has become one of the UK’s most trusted airlines. It was named Most Trusted Travel Company at the Sun Travel Awards, while Jet2holidays took home Best Short Haul Operator.
With new routes from Gatwick and Luton, and an ever-expanding European network, Jet2’s 2026 schedule looks set to make it indeed easier for trippers in the South East to find their perfect sun vacation flight.
For passengers looking for cheap breaks from Gatwick, family holidays in Spain, or last-minute summer deals, Jet2 Gatwick is shaping up to be the ultimate addition to London’s trip scene.
With great client service, award-winning trustworthiness, and 29 sunny destinations, this expansion truly signals a bright future for both the airline and its pious passengers.
