Manchester Synagogue Attack: Four Injured in Car and Knife Assault on Yom Kippur
Four people have been injured following a shocking auto and pecking attack outside a temple in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester.
The incident, which took place near Heaton Park, has been declared a major exigency.
The suspect has been shot by police. Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham stated he believes the existing is now dead. The attack comes on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
Bury South MP Christian Wakeford expressed his shock, saying: “For this to happen on Yom Kippur is horrendous, my thoughts and prayers are with those affected, I know how worried my Jewish community will be regarding this attack.”

Mayor Burnham highlighted the role of synagogue security. “It would seem that some of the security used by our colleagues in the Jewish community has really played a role here in preventing it from being a worse situation,” he said.
The Community Security Trust (CST), which monitors antisemitism in the UK, called the incident “an appalling attack on the holiest day of the Jewish year.”
They added: “CST is working with police and the local Jewish community following a serious incident at a synagogue in north Manchester.
We thank the GMP officers and synagogue security who responded immediately to deal with the incident.”
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is returning from a European trip to preside over a COBRA meeting on the extremity.

North West Ambulance Service( NWAS) verified that coffers were dispatched incontinently. “Our priority is to ensure people receive the medical help they need as quickly as possible,” the service said.
The area around the temple has been heavily cordoned off. Police vehicles, fire machines, and ambulances fill the thoroughfares while a force copter monitors the scene.
Officers in black combat gear, armed with machine ordnance, remain inside the cordon.
One Jewish witness said his wife, daughter, and others were still inside the synagogue.
He told reporters, “It is the holiest day of the year, and we get this. There is no place for Jews in Britain anymore. It’s over.”
