Jake Paul Sparks Chaos at UK Press Conference, Targets Gervonta Davis Over Past Arrests
The forthcoming clash between Jake Paul and Gervonta “ Tank ” Davis turned fiery during their London press conference on 22 September 2025, as Paul relentlessly mocked Davis’ felonious history and domestic violence allegations.
What was meant to be a promotional face- out snappily descended into a war of words, leaving the crowd buzzing and pressures sky-high.
The exchange started with a jab—literally and verbally. Paul mocked the WBA lightweight champion for stumbling over the Netflix fight date, blurting out that Davis was “stupid as f**k”. From that moment, the gloves were off.
Paul couldn’t resist aiming at Davis’s smaller frame. Standing at 6ft 1in, the YouTuber-turned-boxer smirked that his camp had involved “a lot of punching down” in preparation for the showdown with the 5ft 5in Tank.
He pushed further, branding Davis an “8-year-old”, which provoked an instant retort from the Baltimore fighter: “I know one thing. If I [find] out anything, I’m going to beat your a** and I’m going to beat J’Leon Love’s a**. On my momma, I’m going to beat both of your a**es.”
The crowd erupted as the verbal blows kept coming.
Not stopping at size jokes, Paul dragged up Davis’ legal troubles, asking whether the boxer’s weigh-in would be measured “with or without the ankle monitor on?” The taunt drew a cold glare from Davis, who shot back by calling Paul “corny”. But Paul pressed on, smirking as he added: “And the handcuffs too.”
The pressure inside the venue was palpable, with Davis floundering to keep his countenance.

The sharpest sting of the night came when Paul openly referenced Davis’ domestic violence accusations. After Davis mocked Paul’s outfit, calling it “garbage” and labelling the mohawk-wearing star a “clown”, Paul fired back with a cutting response:
“Gervonta, you’re the fing clown, buddy. You’re the f ing clown, Gervonta. Any man who puts his hands on a woman is a clown.”
The crowd heaved as the words landed like a punch.
Paul’s commentary wasn’t without environment. Davis was arrested before this time on a misdemeanor battery-domestic violence charge after his ex-girlfriend accused him of striking her during an alleged altercation on 15 June 2025.
The charge was later dropped when the woman refused to press charges. This wasn’t Davis’s first brush with analogous allegations.
The 29- time-old fighter faced former apprehensions in 2020 and 2022 for allegedly assaulting the mother of his children, cases that were ultimately dismissed or discharged.
With their high-stakes bout set for Netflix, the press conference has formally set the tone. Paul’s grim riding and Davis’ attempts to keep his cool have turned this into more than just a boxing match.
The limelight now isn’t just on who lands the hardest punch in the ring, but on the stewing particular feud outside it. Suckers across the UK and beyond will be watching as the preamble to fight night continues.
