Halsey Makes a Splash as Colman Domingo Hosts Glamorous Venice amfAR Gala
The Venice Film Festival saw its charitable side shine on Sunday as singer Halsey made headlines by bidding for the top lot at the annual amfAR Venezia gala.
Speaking on the red carpet, the star shared candidly about the profound impact the foundation has had on her life.
The event was masterfully hosted by Colman Domingo, who turned heads in a striking, bright green custom Valentino jacket.
Taking place at the historic Arsenale, the gala offered a more intimate atmosphere than its glitzy Cannes counterpart, yet still drew a constellation of A-listers.
Among them was Jude Law, in town to promote his latest film, The Wizard of the Kremlin, in which he portrays Vladimir Putin.
The evening began with a relaxed waterfront reception, featuring champagne, Italian spritz, Negronis, and an array of canapés. Guests enjoyed a curated selection of artwork ahead of the evening’s auction, all while a DJ set the mood with upbeat tunes.
Dinner followed, showcasing a traditional Venetian menu including Ombrina fish. During the meal, Paris Jackson delivered a heartfelt acoustic performance, creating a serene contrast to the bustling social scene.
A live auction soon took centre stage, featuring contemporary art, exquisite jewellery, and luxury holiday experiences. The night concluded with an impressive total of $3.4 million raised for amfAR’s ongoing research and support initiatives.
Halsey bid $585,000 for a portrait of herself by filmmaker Julian Schnabel at the 2025 amfAR Charity Gala in Venice. Proceeds will go towards research for HIV/AIDS.
