FC Porto Near £23m Agreement to Sign Arsenal Defender Jakub Kiwior
FC Porto are closing in on a £23 million deal to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior. The transfer hinges on Arsenal finalising their own defensive acquisition.
The agreement reportedly includes an initial loan with an obligation to buy. The total package is estimated at €26 million (£22.6 million), potentially rising to €27 million (£23.4 million) with add-ons.

Arsenal are also expected to include a sell-on clause. Personal terms with Kiwior are already in place, but the deal is awaiting Arsenal’s completion of the Piero Hincapié transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
Since joining Arsenal from Spezia Calcio in January 2023 for €20 million, Jakub Kiwior has been a versatile squad player, covering both central and left-sided defensive positions.
Despite his adaptability, the 25-year-old Polish international has struggled to cement a regular starting place under Mikel Arteta.
Kiwior has expressed a desire to return to continental Europe, making a move to FC Porto appealing. Talks with Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace, were explored, but the defender was set on a European return.
Arsenal’s squad has seen other updates too, such as Elliot Anderson’s call-up, highlighting the club’s changing roster this season.
Kiwior’s potential exit is closely linked to Arsenal’s pursuit of Piero Hincapié. The Ecuadorian defender is expected to slot into the role vacated by Kiwior, providing flexibility across central and left-back positions.
While personal terms with Hincapié are agreed, the final transfer is still in progress.
The timing means Arsenal may be without both Kiwior and Hincapié for their upcoming clash with Liverpool. Mikel Arteta is likely to rely on Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, and Cristhian Mosquera for the match.
As the summer transfer window nears its close, Arsenal are reshaping their defence. The imminent departure of Jakub Kiwior and the expected arrival of Piero Hincapié underline the Gunners’ commitment to strengthening their squad for the season ahead.
