A woman in her 40s tragically lost her life after being struck by a moped during a rush hour incident in West London. The collision took place on King Street, Hammersmith, shortly after 5.40pm on Friday, August 22.

Emergency services were called to the busy street following reports of a serious crash involving a bicycle and a moped. On arrival, paramedics discovered the cyclist with critical injuries. Despite their best efforts to resuscitate her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Around 5.40pm on Friday, 22 August, officers attended King Street, Hammersmith, following reports of a collision between a moped and a bicycle.

The cyclist, a woman in her 40s, was found with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the moped left the scene on foot, and officers are making enquiries to locate them.

Road closures are in place. Anybody who witnessed the incident, or who has information, should call 101, quoting CAD 5782/22AUG.”

The moped rider involved in the collision is believed to have fled the scene on foot. Police are now actively hunting for the individual responsible.

The incident has left local residents shaken. King Street, a bustling area of Hammersmith lined with shops, restaurants, and commuter traffic, was shut down as officers began their investigation.

Met Police have urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time, to come forward.

This tragic event adds to growing concerns about road safety in London, particularly for cyclists during peak traffic hours.

A life lost. A driver on the run. King Street turned into a crime scene in a matter of seconds. Police need answers and fast. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police by calling 101 and referencing CAD 5782/22AUG.
