British Star Scott Rose-Marsh ‘Screen Tests’ to Take Over as James Bond
A new name has entered the ever-changing 007 race.
Reports suggest that 37-year-old British actor Scott Rose-Marsh has screen tested for the role of James Bond, raising eyebrows across the industry. If true, it throws cold water on talk that Amazon wants a far younger face to replace Daniel Craig.
For months, all eyes have been on Aaron Taylor-Johnson. At 35, the Kick-Ass and Bullet Train star has been widely tipped as the frontrunner. Yet whispers from inside the production hint that director Denis Villeneuve may be considering someone less expected.
Scott Rose-Marsh might have auditioned to be the next James Bond.
He was brought in to screen-test for a film and had to read sides from ‘GOLDENEYE’ and given one instruction — “Don’t impersonate a previous Bond”

Rose-Marsh, who has appeared in Krays: Code of Silence and Wolves of War, reportedly read lines from Pierce Brosnan’s GoldenEye during his test.
But he wasn’t told to imitate past Bonds. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he was specifically instructed not to copy Brosnan, Sean Connery, or Roger Moore.
The alleged test also challenges claims that Amazon MGM, now holding the creative keys to the franchise, wants a youthful reinvention of the secret agent. Rose-Marsh is just one year younger than Craig was when he debuted in Casino Royale in 2006.
He also boasts television credits in the BBC’s Chloe and Stephen Merchant’s The Outlaws. Neither Rose-Marsh nor Amazon has commented on the speculation.
The Bond sweepstake remains crowded. Callum Turner (Masters of the Air), Theo James (The Gentlemen), and Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page are all in the mix.
And what of Tom Holland? The Spider-Man actor has swerved the rumour mill. “We’ll keep it to a minimum for now,” Holland said in a YouTube video. “We’ll get there one day.”
Bond 26 will be the first instalment developed under Amazon MGM, following their deal with long-time producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
The project has heavyweight backing. Amy Pascal and David Heyman are on board as producers, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight penning the script.
The man behind Dune, Denis Villeneuve, will direct. When asked about stepping into the 007 world, he said: “Some of my earliest moviegoing memories are connected to 007.
I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr No with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory.”
The 26th Bond film is slated for release in 2028. Until then, speculation will rage on. Is Scott Rose-Marsh the next James Bond? Or will another name slip into the tux?
One thing is certain. The world’s most famous spy is preparing for his next chapter, and Britain is watching.
