One resident said the news couldn’t have come at a better time. With summer winding down and costs still pinching households, the boost is more than just financial, it’s a lift in spirits too.
Subscriptions to the People’s Postcode Lottery do more than just deliver lucky cheques. At least 33 per cent of ticket sales go directly to charity, supporting causes big and small across the UK.
The organisation currently runs lotteries for 20 charities, with each one hosting a monthly draw. From animal welfare to medical research, its reach is vast.
A spokesperson reminded players that the scheme helps fund “a wide range of charities and good causes across Britain and around the world”.
To date, the People’s Postcode Lottery has raised over £1.1 billion. That money has fuelled thousands of projects, from grassroots groups to international organisations.
And for the winners in Sabden, the timing couldn’t be better. Heading into the long weekend, an unexpected £1,000 feels like the perfect start.
