Amy Bradley’s Family Appeals to Kim Kardashian as Netflix Doc Sparks Global Interest
Amy Bradley’s name has once again entered the public spotlight, 27 years after she vanished from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
The case, long considered one of the most puzzling missing-person stories of modern times, is receiving renewed attention thanks to Netflix’s latest documentary, Amy Bradley Is Missing.
Since its release, viewers across the globe have been captivated by the mysterious disappearance of the 23-year-old American. But what really reignited interest? A single Instagram post from Kim Kardashian.
The three-part series, directed by Ari Mark and Phil Lott, reconstructs the early morning of Amy’s disappearance in 1998. It focuses on the critical 90-minute window between 5:30 and 7:00 a.m., using a combination of new forensic tools and decades-old witness accounts. The result is gripping and disturbing.
Among those gripped was Kardashian herself. After watching the doc, she took to Instagram to call it “mind-blowing,” and encouraged her massive online audience to spread awareness.
That post triggered an emotional response from Amy’s brother, Brad Bradley, who quickly reached out to the star directly.
Brad didn’t hold back in his message. He asked Kardashian to use her legal contacts, political connections, and enormous online reach to help his family bring attention back to Amy’s case.
In a TikTok post, he shared the screenshot of his message, which included a heartfelt plea: “My gut has always told me she’s alive… The FBI dropped the ball from day one.”
It’s a bold move, but one rooted in desperation. The Bradleys have spent nearly three decades searching for answers—and believe that someone with Kardashian’s influence might finally help shift the investigation forward.
This isn’t a baseless hope. Kardashian has made real strides in the world of criminal justice, helping to free multiple inmates through pro bono legal campaigns and political advocacy.
The Bradley family believes she could push for renewed action on several fronts, including updated DNA analysis using modern touch-DNA kits, support for cruise passenger safety reforms in the US Congress, and even coordinated funding for an international search.
There’s also the power of her social media following, over 364 million strong, which could help circulate updated images of Amy and reawaken dormant leads. For the Bradleys, the involvement of someone like Kardashian offers something they haven’t had in years: momentum.
Amy’s mother, Iva Bradley, recently shared a tearful appeal in a 17 July interview with Oxygen. She expressed hope that this time, the right people are finally listening. “We’ve waited decades. We’re not stopping.”
Since the Netflix series aired on 16 July 2025, the family’s tip line has seen a surge in activity. In just the first two days, over 70 new submissions were received. The FBI has confirmed that it is reviewing those leads.
The series also reveals new digital evidence. Netflix’s own data showed unusual spikes in traffic to the Bradley family’s tip website, originating from Caribbean-based IP addresses, coinciding with holidays and anniversaries. It’s an eerie sign that someone, somewhere, might still be keeping an eye on the case.
For years, the dominant theory had been that Amy accidentally fell overboard. But no splash was heard. Nobody was ever found. And Amy was a strong swimmer, trained as a lifeguard.
The suicide theory also holds little ground—Amy had accepted a new job, was in good spirits, and was enjoying her holiday.
Instead, the theory of forced abduction and trafficking now carries the most weight. Witnesses in Curaçao, Barbados, and Venezuela claimed to have seen a woman matching Amy’s description, complete with her distinctive Tasmanian Devil and Gecko tattoos.
A photograph of a sex worker, known as “Jas,” shows a tattoo nearly identical to Amy’s. And one retired US Navy officer says a distressed woman once approached him and said, “My name is Amy Bradley.”
These leads, though never confirmed, continue to haunt the investigation. Retired FBI profiler Peter Valentin, who appears in the series, stated that a trafficking scenario “best fits the available data.”
Gaps in cruise ship CCTV, lax ID checks during docking, and poor forensic procedures have only fuelled suspicion that foul play was involved.
One particularly troubling detail is the claim that Amy’s balcony was cleaned before investigators could examine it, wiping away what could have been critical evidence.
Now, with the Netflix spotlight and Kim Kardashian’s involvement, the Bradleys are hoping for renewed cooperation between US agencies, cruise line authorities, and even the Caribbean governments. They’re asking for one more chance, one more push for truth.
Public interest is rising again, with many revisiting the cruise ship disappearance that started it all.
Could Amy Bradley still be alive? Could this case finally be solved, nearly 30 years later?
The family believes it’s possible. And this time, they’re not alone.
