“Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday!” – How a Travel Ad Took Over the Internet

A holiday ad no one gave much thought to at first has now become one of the most recognisable sounds of summer 2025. The line? “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday!” You’ve almost certainly heard it, whether you wanted to or not.

TikTok has been flooded with videos using this now-iconic audio, where a cheerful voice, thick with enthusiasm, belts out the phrase over Jess Glynne’s upbeat track “Hold My Hand.”

But here’s the twist, instead of perfect beach views or happy family snaps, people are using it to show holiday disasters.

From Budget Ad to Viral Fame

The original Jet2Holidays advert first aired back in December 2022, promoting affordable family trips with a catchy jingle and feel-good messaging. It was your typical travel ad,  until TikTok got hold of it.

That same cheery voice, shouting about package deals and savings, has now found new life online. It’s gone from simple promo to full-blown meme, and there’s been a lot of buzz about how it all kicked off, this explainer on the Jet2Holidays ad going viral breaks it down quite nicely.

By summer 2025, the sound had turned into a kind of internet in-joke. Travel gone wrong? Play the jingle. It’s become the perfect soundtrack to every unexpected (and very British) holiday disaster.

A British Sense of Humour – Online

The trend is peak British humour. We’re not laughing at the trip going wrong, we’re laughing through it. Flooded hotel rooms, painful sunburn, missed airport transfers… all given the Jet2 treatment.

One video of a wakeboarding wipeout got over 8 million likes. Another, showing a woman getting lifted into the air by a rogue hot air balloon, reached more than 3 million. The more unexpected the moment, the better it performs.

Celebs joined in too. Mariah Carey posted her own version before performing at Brighton Pride. Jeff Goldblum recreated the line himself.

Even Jet2Holidays got involved, posting the sound on their own TikTok account. Zoe Lister, the voice behind the ad, performed it live alongside DJ Chris Stark.

Jess Glynne, whose song forms the backdrop, also gave the trend a nod. Fans now sing the line at her gigs. Her reaction? “Here’s to Jet2 blasting it in everyone’s ears!” – not wrong, is it?

Who Are Jet2Holidays? Jet2Holidays is a UK-based travel company offering affordable package holidays to European destinations. Well-known across the UK for its family-friendly deals and no-nonsense travel options, it’s a trusted name for many looking for sun, sand, and simplicity.

But this summer, it’s not the flights or the hotels people are talking about, it’s the soundbite.

What started as a run-of-the-mill travel ad has now become part of internet culture. It’s ironic. It’s catchy. And somehow, it sums up the great British holiday spirit: no matter what goes wrong, we’ll find something to laugh about.
