Police in central London have cordoned off part of a major demesne in Westminster following a shocking sexual assault.
A woman in her 20s was allegedly ravished in Victoria Embankment auditoriums at around 4.10 am on Tuesday, 2 December, prompting a nippy police response.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the victim is being supported by specially-trained officers. A spokesperson said: “Police attended and spoke to the victim, a woman aged in her 20s.
She is currently being supported by specially-trained officers. No arrests have been made at this stage, and police are making urgent enquiries.”
The auditoriums, generally popular with early-morning joggers and excursionists, were closed off as officers carried out forensic quests.
Locals and commuters reported a strong police presence, with some being diverted from their usual walking routes near the Thames.
