Qatar Hails UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal Over Palestinian State Recognition
Qatar has warmly welcomed the decision by the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Portugal to officially honor the State of Palestine, calling it a major step forward for the rights of the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “These recognitions are in line with international legitimacy, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the ‘New York Declaration’ on the implementation of the two-state solution.”
The Ministry added that such moves “contribute to enhancing the prospects of achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.”
Qatar has long supported the Palestinian cause. officers stressed the significance of establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
They also prompted countries that have yet to honor Palestine to follow suit, in a show of commitment to transnational law.
“The Ministry reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s firm and longstanding position in support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,” the statement read.

The advertisement has been met with sanguinity in Palestinian communities, with leaders describing it as a meaningful step towards realising long-held ambitions for sovereignty and peace.
For instance, Jerry Seinfeld’s remarks on Palestine stirred debate online, showing the issue’s global resonance.
Judges say that recognition by these Western nations could strengthen transnational sweats to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a negotiated two-state solution, giving instigation to a process that has faced decades of stalemate.
