Beckenham High Street Blaze Brings Town to a Standstill
A fierce fire tore through a structure on Beckenham High Street beforehand this morning, shutting roads and filling the air with thick shadows of bank.
The first exigency call came in at 7.59 am, with the London Fire Brigade’s control room entering 18 separate reports of dears erupting from a property beside the Odeon cinema.
Fire crews from Beckenham, Bromley, Woodside and Forest Hill contended to the scene within twinkles. The structure, which is presently being refurbished, was formerly well alight when firefighters arrived.
Dears spread snappily through the first and alternate bottoms, forcing crews to bring in a 32- metre turntable graduation to attack the blaze from over.
“Huge plumes of black and brown smoke have been seen rising from the fire,” the London Fire Brigade said, urging residents to keep doors and windows closed to avoid inhaling the smoke.

Police shut down a large section of the High Street to keep people down while firefighters battled the dears.
Drone and upstanding images show severe damage to the roof, though it’s not yet clear whether the Odeon cinema or near shops have been affected.
Investigators have n’t determined what sparked the fire. Crews remain on point damping down hotspots and working to stop the blaze from spreading to neighbouring structures.
