Jamie Vardy Linked with Shock Serie A Switch to Cremonese
Jamie Vardy could be heading for a sensational late-career adventure in Italy, with Serie A newcomers Cremonese holding talks over a potential deal for the Leicester City legend.
A source at the Italian club confirmed to AFP on Friday that discussions are underway.
“The negotiations are in the early stages after initial contact was made with veteran Vardy earlier in the week,” the insider revealed.
Vardy’s story is etched into English football folklore. From turning out for Fleetwood Town while juggling shifts in a factory to lifting the Premier League trophy, his rise is nothing short of remarkable.
The forward joined Leicester City in 2012, aged 25, after working his way up from non-league football.

Two years later, he fired the Foxes to Championship glory. By 2016, he was leading the charge as Leicester stunned the world by clinching the Premier League title.
That same season, he set a record by scoring in 11 consecutive league matches, eclipsing Manchester United great Ruud van Nistelrooy. Four years later, he claimed the Premier League Golden Boot.
In total, Jamie Vardy racked up 200 goals in 500 appearances for Leicester, also lifting the FA Cup in 2021. On the international stage, he wore the England shirt 26 times, netting seven goals.
The 38-year-old announced his Leicester exit at the end of last season, closing a 13-year chapter at the King Power Stadium.
Now, Cremonese, fresh from a shock win over AC Milan at the San Siro, are looking to add Vardy’s experience to their squad.
The Serie A side face Sassuolo tonight in their second league match of the campaign. Whether Vardy will join their ranks remains to be seen, but the prospect of the Foxes icon plying his trade in Italy is already generating buzz across Europe.
