Paranormal Activity show set to haunt London’s West End this December
London’s theatre scene is about to get a chilling shake-up. The Paranormal Activity show, a brand-new stage adaptation of the infamous horror film franchise, is heading to the West End—and it promises to terrify audiences in a way never before seen on stage.
Opening at The Ambassadors Theatre for a 12-week run this December, the production is the brainchild of immersive theatre icon Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk.
Teaming up with acclaimed playwright Levi Holloway, known for his Broadway hit Grey House, the duo have conjured a spine-tingling story that merges heart-pounding horror with human vulnerability.
The narrative follows James and Lou, a couple who leave Chicago behind in hopes of a fresh start in London. But they soon find that the ghosts they’re running from aren’t tied to places—they’re bound to people.
Barrett, whose previous projects include the globally successful Sleep No More, is eager to see how West End theatregoers respond to the uniquely disturbing experience.
“I’m so thrilled that Paranormal will have a chance to ensnare and unnerve audiences in London later this year… It’s been an incredible challenge, and we cannot wait to see how London audiences respond!”
Holloway, equally excited, describes the show as a crafted nightmare made to linger long after the curtain call.
“Collaborating with Felix Barrett to create an actual nightmare has been nothing short of a dream… They’ll find it here, right alongside all the mischief we’ve made to trouble their sleep.”
This UK run follows a North American tour kicking off this autumn. Stops include Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, and San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre.
The creative team is a powerhouse of stage talent. Fly Davis heads up set and costume design, with illusions crafted by Chris Fisher. Anna Watson is in charge of lighting, Gareth Fry handles sound design, and Luke Halls is behind the eerie video elements. Casting direction is led by Stuart Burt CDG and Ginny Schiller CDG.
The original Paranormal Activity film, released by Paramount Pictures in 2009, broke ground with its found-footage style, redefining psychological horror for a new generation. Grossing nearly $200 million globally, it spawned a massive franchise and cemented its place in pop culture.
Now, the stage version aims to do the same—only live, up close, and unnervingly real.
Performances begin Friday 5 December 2025.
Tickets available from Wednesday 9 July at noon via www.paranormalonstage.com.
This isn’t just another horror play. It’s an invitation—to step into the dark. Will you?
