Lidl Issues Immediate Recall of Popular Air Fryer Over Fire Risk

Lidl has urgently recalled a widely sold kitchen appliance amid concerns it may pose a serious fire risk. The supermarket giant is warning all customers who purchased the Tower 8L Dual Basket Air Fryer to stop using it immediately.

The lidl air fryer recall affects units bearing the product code T17129L, which can be found on a white label stuck to the base of the fryer. According to Lidl, the product has been identified as having a “risk of overheating,” leading to potential fire hazards.

“Our supplier is recalling the above-mentioned product due to risk of overheating, which could present a fire hazard. If you own one of the affected models, please stop using it immediately,” the official recall statement read.

Customers are being directed to visit www.tower-safety.co.uk to verify if their unit is part of the recall. The website provides step-by-step instructions on how to safely return the affected item.

For further assistance, Lidl buyers can reach out directly to customer services via [email protected] or by calling 0203 966 5566.

Lidl confirmed that no other Tower brand products have been implicated in the recall. The issue appears to be isolated to the specific batch of air fryers carrying the code T17129L.

This isn’t Lidl’s first recall in recent weeks. Earlier in the month, the retailer also recalled its Harvest Basket Hash Browns, batch number 5144L, due to the “potential presence of foreign bodies (metal),” posing a possible choking risk. The affected frozen product had a best-before date of 24 May 2027.

Consumers are urged to stay informed about product recalls and safety notices. The Lidl air fryer recall serves as a critical reminder of the importance of checking batch numbers and following manufacturer guidance to avoid safety risks at home.
