Co‑op is thanking its member‑owners by launching a Co-op 25% off offer following a recent cyber attack. Members can claim £10 off a £40 in‑store shop between 18 and 24 June.
Cyber attack disruption
In May, a major cyber attack hit Co‑op, affecting payments and causing bare shelves across its 2,300 food stores. Hackers also accessed personal data, including names and contact information of members.
Notably, Co‑op was among several retailers struck in recent months—Marks & Spencer suspended all online orders in April, expecting losses around £300 million, and Harrods also suffered a breach.
Introducing the 25% discount deal
To “express gratitude” to its six and a half million members, Co‑op has rolled out a Co-op 25% off offer. Using this deal, members—existing or new—get £10 off a £40 minimum shop in‑store.
- Valid period: 18 June to midnight 24 June
- One-time use per member
- Applies in all Co‑op food stores
- Includes those who join now
Co‑op’s food managing director, Matt Hood, commented: “I’m very proud that, thanks to the work of our colleagues, we are very near to making a full and complete recovery from the recent cyber‑attack on our Co‑op.
We are so grateful to our member owners for their support and patience, and hope this gesture of appreciation goes a little way to showing them our thanks, with more value rewards to come over the summer.”
How to claim
- Visit your local Co‑op food store between 18–24 June.
- Ensure you’re a member—or sign up in store.
- Spend at least £40 in a single transaction.
- £10 discount (25%) will be applied at the till.
This Co-op 25% off offer is the first of more value rewards planned for the summer. Keep an eye on your Co‑op app or emails for upcoming deals.
