Prince Harry Flashes Victory Sign as He Appears at London Court

Prince Harry has made a confident appearance at the Royal Courts of Justice in London as he continues his legal fight to reinstate full police protection during his visits to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex arrived at the Court of Appeal in a black Range Rover, greeted by a sea of photographers and camera crews. Smiling and raising a victory sign, the royal appeared in high spirits as he stepped into the next chapter of his high-profile legal battle.

The Duke is appealing a previous High Court decision that upheld the downgrading of his security arrangements. This decision was originally made by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) in February 2020, following his and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from royal duties.

Harry, who landed in London on Sunday, is contesting the ruling during a two-day hearing. The case centres on the level of personal protection he and his family receive when visiting the UK. His legal team argues that the current arrangements are inadequate, particularly given his high public profile and the threats he continues to face.

The Duke’s concerns extend to the safety and well-being of his two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Prince Harry has previously stated that his children cannot “feel at home” or “safe” in the UK without the reassurance of full police protection.

The case marks yet another legal standoff between the Duke and the Home Office, adding to a series of lawsuits the royal has pursued since stepping down as a working member of the Royal Family.

The hearing is expected to conclude within two days, though it may take longer for a final decision to be announced.
