Australia’s star fast bowler, Mitchell Starc, produced a sensational performance in the opening Ashes Test in Perth, tearing through England’s top order and achieving a monumental career milestone of 100 wickets in Ashes cricket.
Starc Joins Elite List with 100 Ashes Wickets
Starc became just the 21st bowler in history, and only the 13th Australian, to reach the 100-wicket mark in the historic Ashes series. Remarkably, he managed the feat in just 23 Tests, underlining his extraordinary consistency and impact on the sport.
Among current players from both sides, only Starc and fellow Australian Nathan Lyon, who has 110 Ashes wickets, have reached this elite milestone.
Australia’s Fast Bowling Sensation Dominates England in Perth
After winning the toss at Perth Stadium, England chose to bat first. They went with a seam-heavy attack, fielding four pacers and leaving out off-spinner Shoaib Bashir from their 12-man squad. However, the plan backfired as England’s innings quickly fell apart.
An all time great !
A cricketer full of aura and capable of producing magic moments in biggest and most high – pressure scenarios even when he is not operating at his best.

England were bowled out for a mere 172 runs in just 32.5 overs, leaving Australia in a commanding position.
This landmark achievement cements Starc’s legacy as one of the greats of Ashes cricket, and fans will be eagerly watching to see what else he has in store for the rest of the series.
