Still, it’s worth taking a moment to check the rearmost TfL tube line closures, London Underground changes, if you’re planning to get around London this weekend.

From Friday 21 November to Sunday 23 November, Transport for London will carry out essential engineering works that will affect several routes across the network.

These updates are essential to keep the transport system running smoothly, especially with major projects underway across the city, such as TfL’s ongoing upgrade work in east London, including the new DLR extension to Thamesmead.

Whether you’re exchanging, meeting musketeers, or simply heading out for the weekend, these updates will help you avoid unanticipated detentions. For the most accurate updates on the day, the TfL website and sanctioned app are your stylish bet.

Below is a clear breakdown of all the planned closures and schedule changes across the London Underground, Overground, DLR, and Elizabeth line.

Friday 21 November

Suffragette Line Adjustments

  • The 0618 service from Barking Riverside will start from Barking at 0624 rather. It’s a small change, but one worth noting if you calculate on this early service.

Cutty Sark DLR Station Closure

  • Cutty Sark remains closed until spring 2026 while all escalators are replaced. trippers should use Greenwich DLR as the volition station.

Saturday 22 November – Major Weekend Engineering Works

DLR Closures

The DLR will be heavily affected on Saturday with:

  • No service between Poplar / Stratford International and Beckton / Woolwich Arsenal
  • No service between Tower Gateway and Shadwell
  • These closures are due to planned upgrades, so be sure to check alternative routes.

Mildmay Line (London Overground)

  • No service between Gospel Oak and Richmond/ Shepherd’s Bush on both Saturday and Sunday. Anticipate longer peregrinations if you are travelling through north or west London.

Waterloo & City Line

  • As usual, the line operates Monday to Friday only (6am–12.30am). There is no service at weekends or on bank holidays.

Cutty Sark

  • Continues to be closed for long-term maintenance.

Sunday 23 November – Further Tube and Rail Disruptions

DLR

  • No service between Shadwell and Tower Gateway.

Elizabeth Line

Several important service updates:

  • No trains between Whitechapel and Shenfield.
  • Until 07:40, no service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway.

Liberty Line (Overground)

  • No service between Romford and Upminster.

Mildmay Line

  • As of Saturday, no trains are running between Gospel Oak and Richmond / Shepherd’s Bush.
  • A reduced service will run between Shepherd’s Bush and Clapham Junction.

Waterloo & City Line

  • Closed, following its usual weekday-only timetable.

Cutty Sark

  • Still closed until 2026, with Greenwich DLR remaining the nearest option.
