Police have charged a 32-year-old man from Peterborough following a string of violent incidents that shook Cambridgeshire and London on November 1.
Anthony Williams, of Langford Road, Peterborough, faces 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH), and one count of possessing a bladed article after a mass stabbing took place on board a train at Huntingdon Station.
But the case doesn’t end there. Williams has also been charged in connection with a separate knife attack the same day at Pontoon Dock DLR Station in east London, facing an additional attempted murder charge and another for possession of a bladed weapon.
He is set to appear before Peterborough Magistrates’ Court later this morning (November 3).

Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy of the British Transport Police (BTP) issued a firm statement as investigations continue.
“The criminal investigation and support for the victims is a priority for British Transport Police. Our investigation is also looking at other possible linked offenses.

Following the charge authorized by the Crown Prosecution Service, I would stress the importance of not saying or publishing anything which might jeopardize or prejudice ongoing criminal proceedings, or the integrity of the investigation.”
His message was clear: the focus remains on justice and victim support, while ensuring due process is not compromised.
Authorities confirmed that they are exploring any potential links between the two knife attacks. Forensic teams have remained active at both stations throughout the weekend, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
A recent report on the Huntingdon train horror incident also highlighted the bravery of rail staff and passengers who rushed to help during the chaos.
Community in Fear as Court Proceedings Begin
The attacks have left both Huntingdon and Peterborough communities stunned. Witnesses described moments of panic and chaos as passengers scrambled for safety during the incident.
Trains were halted. Platforms were cleared. A normal Friday evening commute turned into a night of terror.
Local residents expressed disbelief that someone from their own city could be involved in such a horrifying act. Many have taken to social media to share messages of solidarity and support for the victims, as well as to call for tighter station security.
Williams’ court appearance at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court marks the start of what’s expected to be a closely watched legal process.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorized the charges, and detectives continue to investigate other possible offenses.
For now, Anthony Williams of Peterborough remains in custody. The British Transport Police say their priority is clear: bringing justice to the victims and reassurance to the public after a night that will not soon be forgotten.
