This corner surpasses Neymar’s former record of 58 and adds yet another subcaste to Messi’s fabulous career.

It wasn’t just about the figures, however. It was about the air, the control, and the ease with which Messi mandated play. Every touch felt deliberate, every pass purposeful.

It was also a night to flash back for José Manuel López, who made a dream debut in the blue and white.

The youthful striker handed a pivotal assist to Alexis Mac Allister, showcasing the kind of countenance infrequently seen in debutants. His confidence in the ball and chemistry with the midfield gave Argentina fresh energy.

“Lionel Messi made history on Tuesday as he led Argentina to a resounding 6-0 victory over Puerto Rico in an international friendly at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This match was particularly significant, as it marked Messi’s return to international play after the World Cup triumph.”

The scoreboard told the story. Alexis Mac Allister and Lautaro Martínez both struck twice, while Puerto Rico’s defense, under immense pressure, conceded an own goal.

López’s contribution rounded off the tally, sealing a six-goal masterclass from the reigning world champions.

Puerto Rican goalkeeper Sebastian Cutler deserves credit, though. Despite facing wave after wave of Argentine attacks, he made several stunning saves, including one against Messi that drew applause from both sets of fans.

Interestingly, the game almost didn’t happen in Florida. Firstly listed for Chicago, it was dislocated amid reports of poor ticket deals and original immigration crackdowns that led to over a thousand apprehensions.

Tickets were priced as low as$ 25, yet the venue was only partially full at the onset.

Still, as the evening progressed, further suckers poured in, drawn by the chance to see Lionel Messi in action, and he didn’t fail.

For Puerto Rico, ranked 155th by FIFA, the night was more about experience than the result. Some players, including Noeh Hernández, who has scored three pretensions this season for DePaul, represented the growing mix of youthful, ambitious gifts from the island.

Argentina’s focus now shifts to future fixtures, following their recent narrow win over Venezuela, which saw them grind out a 1–0 victory without Messi.

This institution forms part of Argentina’s long-term preparation for the 2026 World Cup, to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Amid the fests, reports surfaced that U.S. President Donald Trump suggested implicit adaptations to World Cup venues, citing uneasiness in the corridor of Boston.

Whatever comes next, one thing is clear: Lionel Messi isn’t decelerating down. At 38, he remains a game-changer, a record-swell, and the twinkle of Argentina’s footballing spirit.

As the floodlights bedimmed over Fort Lauderdale, suckers knew they had witnessed a commodity special, another chapter in Lionel Messi’s ever-growing legend. The match wasn’t just about pretensions or records. It was about greatness.
