Jensen Ackles Breaks Silence on Countdown Cancellation

It’s sanctioned. Preamble has joined the long list of addict-favourite shows removed too soon. Amazon Prime Video has decided not to renew the Jensen Ackles-led action suspense after just one season, leaving both the cast and suckers stunned.

The 47- time-old Supernatural alum broke his silence on Instagram, speaking directly to observers in an emotional videotape.

“As some of you may have seen already, Countdown did not get picked up for another season. Amazon’s gonna let it go, and it’s a bummer because I had such an amazing time making that show. Had an absolute blast with the cast and the crew,” Ackles said.

Despite the disappointment, Ackles’ communication was further grateful than grief. He took time to thank Amazon “for giving us the opportunity,” as well as the show’s generators, pens, and everyone involved behind the scenes.

“Sometimes you can set out to do your best and check all those boxes, and ultimately it’s out of your hands,” he reflected. “That’s the way it goes in this industry.”

Ackles’ tone was warm, humble, and unmistakably genuine. He ended his post with a hopeful note, saying he was “ thankful for the experience ” and teasing suckers with, “We’ll see you down the road on something else, I guess.”

The support from fellow actors poured in nearly incontinently. Among them was Jared Padalecki, Ackles’ Supernatural co-star and longtime friend, who reflected, “Their loss, brother.

You were amazing in it. Which is no surprise to ANYBODY. I’ll still be re-watching. And I can’t wait to see what you do next.”

The news hit especially hard because Countdown had been performing steadily on the platform.

According to reports, the show remained in Prime Video’s U.S. Top 10 for further than a month after its homestretch, a rare feat for a first-season series.

Yet, despite strong addict engagement, Amazon made the decision to pull the drama, also cancelling another drama, Butterfly, on the same day.

The advertisement sparked frustration among observers who took to social media with hashtags like #SaveCountdown and #CountdownCancelled, prompting other networks to pick up the show.

In the midst of Countdown’s cancellation buzz, Ackles surprised suckers with a career tidbit many had heard before.

Speaking at a recent Supernatural event, he revealed he was once in talks to play Deadpool, the role ultimately made iconic by Ryan Reynolds.

“There was definitely a movie that I was very much in talks about,” he shared. “I wasn’t available, so the train just kind of stopped there.”

He even admitted that fate might have spared him some awkwardness, adding with a laugh:

“My ex-girlfriend [Morena Baccarin, who played Deadpool’s love interest] was on there, and so that probably would have been awkward.”

Still, he praised Reynolds and the cast, saying, “I think that whole cast was amazing.”

While Countdown’s trip has ended suddenly, Jensen Ackles shows no sign of decelerating. With a pious fanbase and a string of successful places behind him, from The Boys to Supernatural, he’s expected to return to the screen sooner rather than later.
