An 18-year-old is battling for his life after being gunned down just outside one of London’s most iconic landmarks – Wembley Stadium.

Chaos erupted in the early hours of Sunday morning when emergency services were called to Atlantic Crescent in north-west London. The incident, which took place around 5:30am, left a teenager with a critical gunshot wound.
Metropolitan Police officers rushed to the scene and discovered the 18-year-old victim suffering from severe injuries. Paramedics provided emergency treatment before transporting him to a major trauma centre, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
The victim’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
“We recognise the shock and impact this incident will have on the community. The investigation is in its very early stages and we are working at pace to establish the full circumstances. There will be an increased police presence in the local area.

Emergency Services Rushed to the Scene
London Ambulance Service confirmed that they responded to the shooting within minutes.
“We were called at 5.26am today (21 September) to reports of a shooting in Atlantic Crescent, Wembley. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.
We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre,” a spokesperson said.
Travel Disruption as Police Lock Down Area
In the aftermath of the shooting, South Way, the main road near Wembley Stadium, was cordoned off as officers secured the scene for forensic investigation.
Public transport has also been impacted. Route 440 buses are being diverted in both directions.
Transport for London issued a statement: “Buses towards Wembley are terminating at Brent Civic Centre (E), with no service between Olympic Way and First Way.
Buses towards Turnham Green are starting from Lakeside Way (C), with no service at stops First Way, Olympic Way and Brent Civic Centre.”
Ongoing Investigation – No Arrests Yet
As of now, no arrests have been made. Detectives are combing through CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses. Forensics teams have been on-site throughout the day.
Police are urging anyone with information – no matter how insignificant it may seem – to step forward.
